Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies brings together children, youth, and older adult volunteers to share the joy of reading in a welcoming, supportive environment. Through one-on-one or small-group reading sessions, participants build literacy skills, confidence, and meaningful intergenerational relationships.

Children benefit from extra reading practice, positive encouragement, and individualized attention, while older volunteers have the opportunity to share their love of books, mentor young readers, and make a lasting impact in their community. Together, Reading Buddies fosters a lifelong love of reading, strengthens community connections, and celebrates learning across generations."
