Join us for a fun and interactive workshop where we dive into the fascinating science behind sourdough starters and the lifecycle of yeast! This hands-on session will cover the chemistry of bread-making in an easy-to-understand way, perfect for beginners and those curious about the science behind the process.
Led by a bio-chemist, you’ll learn the basics of how yeast grows and evolves throughout the stages of fermentation. You'll also discover how to start and care for your own sourdough starter, with a guarantee that it will grow if you follow the simple steps provided. We’ll explore the conditions yeast needs to thrive and discuss how to properly store your starter for long-term use.

Ages: 12+ (primarily adults)
Cost: $6 per starter, to be paid in cash at the library (All proceeds go back into library programming). Limited to 12 starters per class.
