About the Event
We welcome Sha'tekayenton Brant from the One Dish Project for a workshop that explores the Haudenosaunee Creation Story through teachings connected to responsibility, balance, relationship to the natural world, and the foundations of life on Turtle Island. Participants engage with the story as a living framework for understanding governance, environmental responsibility, community relationships, and humanity’s connection to the land.
The workshop examines the roles of Sky Woman, the animals, the medicines, the waters, and the original responsibilities carried within the story, while encouraging participants to reflect on how those teachings continue to shape relationships with the environment and each other today.
This workshop will include eco-art projects or painting activities connected directly to the teachings being explored. Activities are designed to reinforce learning through creation, reflection, and direct engagement with the natural world.
